“Our bodies need this” documents a part of the 24 hour durational performance “Beyond the Box”, which took place on Beşiktaş square in Istanbul in 2010. Three performers are conducting massage, bodywork and contact improvisation, and as people interact, the cameraman becomes not only interpreter, but also an agent in a discourse on the relevance of contemporary performance art in public space.
